Object description:

In order to expand the production capacities for the production of galvanised sheet metal, e.g. for the automotive industry, Voest Alpine AG is building a new sheet metal galvanising plant at the Linz site. The special feature of this plant is the production process of galvanising by means of an “endless” continuous sheet. This has inlet resp. discharge loop storages, which make it possible to connect the individual sheet coils with each other in the run-up to galvanising or to separate the finished galvanised sheet after winding, so that the galvanising process does not have to be interrupted for this purpose. In addition to the special design of the loop storages, the support and working platforms for other components of the plant, such as the strip dryer, strip cleaning, shear platform and rolling mill, must also be worked out in cooperation with the plant engineering department.
